I am so glad you stopped by. Making reading fun is what I do!
I love books and I especially enjoy choosing which children’s books I am going to promote.
I love you all so much & never forget how much Jesus loves you!
We are still learning all about the vowels: A, E,I, O and I can’t forget about U ! Today we are going to talk about how they each classify as short and long sounds. With short vowels its really just simply saying each vowel with a shorter sound! (I’ll show you exactly how to do this in a video on YouTube). Long vowels say their name! Yep, you heard me, long vowels say their name! How about you try saying your name and see if you have long or short vowels! I have mostly short vowels in my name. What about you?
Take a look at the picture below! I have some pictures linked underneath each letter. Your job is to make sure the pictures are correctly placed under each letter. Be sure to say the name of the picture while you are completing the exercise!
Pay close attention, because I see one picture that does not belong in this set. I think its first letter say its name…. Hmmmmmm what do you think?
Let’s Try another Short Vowel Exercise!!!
Did you find all of the correct answer choices?
Take a look at the picture below, Are all of the pictures classified as long vowels?
Are all of the pictures classified as long vowel words? Yes? I think so too!! One more activity and then we will be done for the day!
Did you get all of them correct? Yay, you!!! Did you notice anything about the pictures? Well, did you notice how although “fly” is spelled with a “y” it has an “i” sound? Yep!
I hope you all had some fun with these exercises and be on the lookout for a YouTube video !
See ya later!
