I am so glad you stopped by. Making reading fun is what I do!
I love books and I especially enjoy choosing which children’s books I am going to promote.
I love you all so much & never forget how much Jesus loves you!
I absolutely love “I can read” book series. There are reading levels that you can find on the back of each book that are suitable for each child’s reading level. Whether your child is just learning how to read, or they are exploring the many adventures in a chapter book. There is a book in this collection that your children will find and love!
I think I love Amelia Beldelia more now than I did when I was a kid. She is literally the queen of “Hot mess” mistakes. The book on the cover was purchased from Barnes and Noble and it was only 4.99 (I can’t remember what the amount was after tax, but it was no more than 6 dollars).
Amelia Bedelia is the most funniest housekeeper ever and although she makes mistakes, you can’t help but see the innocence in her actions. If you tell her to clean the chicken, she just might actually bring out some soap and water and “clean” the chicken. If she is babysitting for you and one of the tasks reads “playtime until 5 o’ clock ,” Amelia might take that as a task she must fulfill and not the baby. Funny right? Well that is just what she did in this cute book “Amelia Bedelia and the Baby.”
This book begins with Mrs. Rogers asking Amelia to baby sit for Mrs. Lane. Amelia was very skeptical because she didn’t know much about taking care of babies, but she welcomed the challenge. When she got to Mrs. Lane’s house, she was given a list and told that Missy (baby’s name) had already been given her lunch. As time went on Amelia Bedelia had to complete many different tasks.
Whenever Missy cried, Amelia was to give her a bottle, but she thought that bottles were too much for babies to handle. Amelia, gave her a box and a can instead . Missy, continued to cry as Amelia Bedelia gave her these things, for she was looking to receive a milk bottle.
Next, Mrs. Carter comes over with a basket full of strawberries and hears the crying as well. She suggests that Missy might need her milk bottle. This time, Missy actually received her bottle once Amelia saw that the baby bottles were much “safer.”
Her next task was to give Missy a bath and surprisingly she completed this task with no problem. When it came time to complete the task “be sure to use the baby powder,” Amelia thought that task was meant for her. Hilarious, right!!! After this, she decides to make her famous strawberry tarts. They came out of the oven looking oh so delicious. In the other room Missy is taking a nap, but soon wakes up and begins to cry. During this time, Amelia was to give her a mashed banana. Instead of baby food, she gives her an actual mashed banana. See, Amelia Bedelia will keep you on your toes!!
The shenanigans continue to happen throughout the entire visit. Once Missy’s parents get home, they cannot believe their eyes. Mrs. Lane was just about to tell Amelia that her services were no longer needed. But then Mrs. Lane’s and her husband taste one of Amelia’s strawberry tarts and conclude that she is more than welcome to come back. Missy even enjoyed her stay with Amelia and Amelia agreed that she would come back and baby sit!
Well, will you? If you do, you will never be disappointed!
